I get asked alot what kind of products/regimen do I use on Eva’s hair, so I decided to write a post and share pics of her wash day. I’ll be the first to say I’m no hair guru but I do know through many trials and errors what works and what to stay away from. I recently discovered Eva has low porosity hair (hair that resists moisture and conditioning oils). Not to mention product builds up easily and her hair is protein sensitive making it feel very brittle at times. So I started using the Shea Moisture Low Porosity Line and just after one use I already see the difference. Of course I tested it on myself first because I have the same hair porosity and wanted to make sure it did what it was suppose to. Therefore, I love it!!
Deep Condition: I first pre-poo with Righteous Roots Kids Oil which is a pre-wash detangler that cuts wash day in half. I’ve been using it for about 6 months now and it is magical! Along with this I combine it with As I Am Hydration Elation Intensive Conditioner then cover hair with a plastic cap followed by the ThermalHairCare hot head (a deep conditioning heat cap) and let it work it’s magic for about 30 mins while she plays.
Co-wash: basically means washing the hair with only conditioner. I usually shampoo but I’m starting to only add that step once a month. Co-washing will help in keeping her hair moisturized being as though shampoo tends to strip the hair. I use Shea Moisture Low Porosity Protein-Free Conditioner (I wash it twice) to make sure I get rid of any build up of products in her hair.

Styling: Once hair is washed and damp I apply the Shea Moisture Low Porosity Leave In Detangler followed by Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie or one of my faves Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter. I twist and pray it last at least 3-4 days.
